The Southern Tier All-Star Jazz Band  is a 16-piece jazz orchestra from the Upstate NY area specializing in the big band hits from the 30's through the present. Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Stan Kenton, Count Basie and Duke Ellington are just a few of the bands that we are proud to represent. Since 1983, the Southern Tier All-Star Jazz Band has been playing some of the greatest, most recognizable tunes from the big band era. Come And See Us! For bookings, click below to email your request: Booking Information  FRANK MOCHOL 1956-2011 It is with great sadness that we report the untimely passing of our greatest good-will ambassador. As a founding member, Frank was for many years our tenor sax soloist, and the heart and soul of the band.  He was beloved by us all, including the many students whose lives he touched while teaching in Wayland. He loved life and people and performing, and was second to none at all three. All of us in the STASJB family will miss him forever, and we offer our heartfelt condolences to his wife Julie, his children Lindsay and Kyle, and all other family members.
